ICARUS @ SONORA
Diatom ice sculptures up to one meter scale. We sculpture different species throughout all diatom clades.
The visitors enter the installation through our laboratory, where we inform about diatoms during a science presentation including microscopes.

Who lives inside the mud?
Kids are the future: So should they know about the hidden wonders in our environment. Does mud just smell? Or does it bear hidden treasures?
Includes a morning trip to the salt marsh or similar environment, where pupils collect mud samples (and play in the mud). An afternoon activity where the samples are analysed under the microscope. Has previously been realised at a primary school with pupils aged between 3-10 years.
